VACANCIES – NATIONAL TEAM COACHES 🇳🇬

The Nigeria Football Federation has announced new coaching vacancies across the youth national team structure:

• U‑17 Women’s National Team (Flamingos)
• U‑17 Men’s National Team (Golden Eaglets)
• U‑20 Men’s National Team (Flying Eagles)
• U‑23 Men’s National Team (Olympic Eagles)

The NFF is inviting applications from qualified, licensed coaches to lead these teams into their next competitive cycles.

I’m not aware of any officially published minimum requirements for these vacancies yet. However, based on previous NFF announcements — and what I would expect to see — the typical expectations usually include:

1️⃣ At least a CAF B Licence or equivalent

2️⃣ Active coaching experience within the last five years

3️⃣ Strong familiarity with the Nigerian leagues

4️⃣ Demonstrated leadership qualities

5️⃣ Ability to communicate effectively in English

6️⃣ Evidence of coaching success within the last three years

While the roles are open to all qualified coaches, individuals with strong familiarity with the Nigerian football ecosystem — from league structures to youth development pathways — are especially well‑positioned. I can imagine that cultural fluency and some domestic experience will also be valuable for these roles.

I would encourage diaspora Nigerian coaches who believe they are suitably qualified for the coaching roles to put themselves forward.

📌 How to Apply

Coaches who meet the criteria should submit their CV and credentials to:
